仙人峰,为天轮柱的一个自然变异种。它肋棱时缺时有,错乱不规则。茎杆时而一杆挺拔直上,时而多头丛生,如起伏的山峰,故俗称仙人峰。本人曾在《中国花卉盆景》1990年7～8期《家庭阳台栽培仙人球》一文中,初次介绍过以仙人峰作砧嫁接各种仙人球的特点。时隔多年,实践验证,以仙人峰作砧嫁接各种仙人球类,确实具有无与伦比的优越性。抗逆性强在目前采用的球类嫁接砧木中,仙人峰的抗逆性可算是最强的一种了。它夏季抗热,抗曝晒,气温高达40℃也不必遮荫;冬季抗寒冷,在盆土偏干状态下,-2℃也不会受冻害,不必进暖棚。它晴天抗干旱,一个月不浇水也不会枯死;雨水抗水涝,泡上2～3天也不会烂根。它还有很强的抗病菌能力,10多年来,从未见过它有什么病害。任凭日晒雨淋,不必多加护理,
