在西安城南瓦胡同村的东北隅有一个宋家花园,园内茂林修竹,小桥流水, 怪石嶙峋,曲径通幽。这原是爱国人士宋联奎的别墅。在抗日战争时期,朱德、周恩来曾到过宋家花园。1938年7月,朱德在云南讲武堂求学的老师、任过陕西省省长的李根源从新疆扶病入关,住在宋家花园养病。这时,朱德从山西临汾前线来到西安,由林伯渠和第十八集团军驻西安办事处主任
