Canadian scientists have discovered that a human virus that causes mild stomach and respiratory discomfort can actively extinguish cancer cells. This type of respiratory-adapted enterovirus naturally produced in the human body may become an important weapon for the treatment of cancer. Leading this research work is Li Yongguang, a cancer biologist at the University of Calgary, Canada. They used this virus to treat mouse tumors and human brain tumors implanted in mice.
