圆明园遗址究竟是应该整修还是保存原状?近年来又一次成为人们争论的焦点。在一些学术团体联合召开的座谈会、研讨会上,专家学者们意见分歧;全国政协和北京市政协召开的会议上,委员们提出了内容截然相反的提案;一些报刊发表了关于整修圆明园遗址的不同观点的文章或不同观点的综合报道。众说纷纭,莫衷一是。我认为,圆明园遗址,不仅应该整修,而且应该再创辉煌。因为,圆明园不是一般的园林,它的兴废是和300年来中华民族的盛衰紧密地联系在一起的。
