Objective To understand the prevalence of TORCH infection among women of childbearing age in Shaoxing, and to provide basis for prevention of TORCH infection and good prenatal and postnatal care. Methods Chemiluminescence microparticle immunoassay was used to detect specific IgM and IgG antibodies against TORCH infection in 16 815 women of childbearing age who were treated in our hospital from January 2012 to December 2014. Results The positive rates of TOX-IgM, RV-IgM and CMV-IgM in 16 815 samples were 0.09%, 0.70% and 2.77%, respectively. The positive rate of TOX-IgG was 13.58%. In the age group of childbearing age TORCH infection distribution, 20 to 29-year-old women of childbearing age TORCH antibody positive rate of each pathogen generally higher. The positive rates of TOX-IgM in TOX-IgM from 2012 to 2014 were 0.09%, 0.12% and 0.07% respectively. The positive rates of TOX-IgG were 12.10%, 13.01% and 15.02% respectively. The positive rates of RV-IgM were 0.56%, 0.69% and 0.79 %, CMV-IgM positive rates were 2.80%, 3.01%, 2.56% respectively. Only the positive rates of TOX-IgG in 2014 were significantly higher than those in 2013 and 2012 (P = 0.000). There was no significant difference in the positive rates of other indicators between adjacent years (All P> 0.05). Conclusion There is a certain proportion of TORCH infection among women of childbearing age in Shaoxing. It is suggested that women of childbearing age should be screened for TORCH before pregnancy so as to avoid the birth of babies born with TORCH.
