社会公益人物提名奖入选理由:2007年6月5日,世界环境日之际,青藏铁路格拉段环保工作通过国家环保局验收。作为青藏铁路总设计师的李金城是最大的幕后英雄。作为总设计师,青藏铁路全线他已经上上下下地跑了几十个来回,行程近百万公里。青藏铁路还有效解决了雪域高原的冻土层退融问题,高原环境问题,生态保护等等难题。他用自己的双脚,无数次丈量着青藏铁路。他设计的铁路成为了中国铁路工程环保建设的样本。
Social welfare character nomination award Selected reasons: June 5, 2007, World Environment Day, Gelao section of Qinghai-Tibet Railway’s environmental protection through the State Environmental Protection Agency acceptance. Li Jincheng, chief designer of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, is the largest behind-the-scenes hero. As chief designer, he has been running up and down the Qinghai-Tibet Railway for dozens of round trips, traveling nearly one million kilometers. Qinghai-Tibet Railway is also an effective solution to the snowy plateau permafrost thawing problems, the plateau environmental problems, ecological protection and so on. He used his own feet, countless times measured the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. His railroad design has become a sample of the environmental protection of China’s railway construction.
