1997年12月11日,我们杭州市科普作家协会一行10人,前往临安瑞晶洞科学考察.瑞晶洞早在明代《昌化县志》上就有记载,名为老石洞,发现至今已有几千年,但一直无人探秘.直到1982年4月,石瑞乡政府组织了探洞队,冒着生命危险,腰系绳索,手持火把,下至50多米深的洞底,才首次揭开了该洞神秘的面纱.以后又组织有关专家考察、规划,投资600多万元,第一期工程于1995年10月竣工后,使这座沉睡了几十万年的溶洞於1997年元月才正式对游人开放.
