海相沉积物中的贝壳是研究海陆变迁的重要证据,也是海岸带分布最广泛的可用于C~(14)年龄测定的材料。它除了为冰后期世界性海平面的升降变化的研究提供时间尺度以外,也可为海岸及陆架地区地壳新活动的研究提供有说服力的证据。到目前为止,据不完全统计,我国已经测定了168个海相贝壳及残留沉积物的C~(14)年龄数据,共中在东海大陆架地区采集的样品有65个,在海岸带采集的有103个。
Seashells in marine sediments are important evidences for studying the evolution of land and sea. They are also the most widely available materials for C ~ (14) dating in coastal areas. In addition to providing a time scale for the study of the up-and-down changes of the global sea level in the late ice period, it can also provide convincing evidence for the study of new crustal activities in the coastal and continental shelf areas. So far, according to incomplete statistics, China has measured C ~ (14) age data of 168 marine shells and residual sediments.
