今年3月4日,胡锦涛主席在参加全国政协十届四次会议小组讨论时,发表了关于社会主义荣辱观的重要论述,提出了“八荣八耻”,在全国人民中引起了强烈反响,并迅速成为社会各界(包括宗教界)的共识。“八荣八耻”,体现了中华民族的优良道德传统,切中了当前现实社会存在的各种问题,关乎国家的前途、社会的安宁和人民的永久幸福。一言以蔽之,当今社会倡导“八荣八耻”,十分及时,意义重大,影响深远。本文作者周高德先生为道教界人士,在学习“八荣八耻”的过程中,发现古老的本土道教教义中蕴藏着与当今社会倡导的“八荣八耻”内容许多相似之处,其本质精神非常一致。这些教义源远流长,已成为道教的优良道德传统。周高德先生以“八荣八耻”为线索,来挖掘和阐扬道教教义中与此相关的教义内容。其主旨,简言之,即：弘扬优良传统,践行“八荣八耻”。限于篇幅,本刊将分两期刊发,敬请读者谅解。
