2002年3月,中央纪委接到广东省法院一名干部的举报信,举报原省高级法院院长麦崇楷利用建筑审判大楼,中饱私囊,作风败坏,群众影响恶劣。由于这是对一名省部级干部的举报材料,而且被举报人曾经为党和国家作出过贡献,担任领导干部多年,对我国的司法工作也有卓越的贡献,目前还在担任全国人民政治协商会议的委员,这份材料立即引起了中央领导的高度重视。
