冯家坪大队地处延安以北丘陵沟壑区,水源缺乏,十年九旱。全大队206户,892人,3600亩耕地,其中川、台、沟、坝地1600亩,人均1.9亩基本农田。1970年以来,深入开展“农业学大寨”的群众运动,粮食产量逐年上升,1973、74两年交售公购粮各48万斤,比1970-71年合计增加五倍,成为延川县科学种田夺高产的先进队之一。为了认真贯彻毛主席“备战、备荒、为人民”的伟大方针,落实周总理“三年农业变面貌,五年粮食翻一番”的重要指示。几年来,大队党支部以党的基本路线为纲,深入开展批林整风和批林批孔,认真贯彻农业“八字宪法”,实行科学种田,初步摸索出谷子高产的一些栽培技术,获得了大幅度增产。1972年试种20亩川地谷子,亩产580斤。
