汽车扰流板(俗称尾翼或定风翼),是一种安装在汽车尾部的装置。其最先被用于赛车上,由于赛车在地面上高速行驶,会产生一定的升力,使轮胎向上抬起造成车辆失控,也就是人们常说的“发飘”。随着民用汽车速度的提高,它在民用汽车上的应用也越来越普遍。汽车扰流板利用空气气流把车身压向地表面,增加轮胎与地面的接触力,从而加大附着力,确保行车安全。它的基本原理与飞机机翼相反,是一个扣过来的飞机机翼。飞机机翼从横断面看,下边是平滑的,上面是圆弧状的。当空气气流从正面通过时,平滑一面气流通过较快,而圆弧一面气流通过较慢,因此上、下两个面产生上小下大的气压差,将机翼托起。飞机就是靠这股升力翱翔天际的。汽车车身也可以看成个不完美的机翼,所以速度一快,所产生的升力就足以使车失控。所以人们在车尾安上一个反过来的“机翼”,以抵消这种升力。这个“机翼”就是扰流板。
