[本刊记者报道]1982年4月8日下午二时,在上海社会科学院大礼堂,召开了首届科普译文竞赛授奖大会,到会七百余人。会上,上海科协副主席、复旦大学副校长谈家桢教授向大会致辞,浦允南、夏禹龙分别代表评选委员会报告了评选情况与宣读了得奖名单。在向上海地区17名得奖者给奖后,由熊刚代表得奖者致答辞。大会在三时结束。自去年六月竞赛开始至十一月底截稿,评选委员会共收到应征译文2111件,2500篇(有的每件有二篇至六篇不等)。据统计;全国除西藏、台湾外,各地区都有,以上海居多(878件),占
[Reporter’s correspondent] At 2:00 p.m. on April 8, 1982, at the auditorium of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, the first prize contest for popular science translation was held and there were over 700 participants. At the meeting, Prof. Tan Jiazhen, vice chairman of Shanghai Association for Science and Technology and vice chancellor of Fudan University addressed the conference. Pu Yunan and Xia Yulong respectively reported the selection and read out the winners on behalf of the selection committee. After giving awards to the 17 winners in Shanghai, Xiong Gang delivered a speech on behalf of the winners. The meeting ended at three o’clock. Since the competition started in June last year and has been completed by the end of November, the selection committee has received a total of 2,111 translations and 2,500 translations (some ranging from two to six in some cases).
