朋友、同志间适度赠礼,既是传统习俗,也是人之常情。毛泽东在公务活动和私人交往中,也常赠送或接受礼品,但他有着严格的原则和尺度。1954年6月,中华全国供销合作总社第一届社员代表大会第一次会议在北京召开。曾经同毛泽东一起在韶山从事过农民运动的邹祖培等三人是会议代表,会议期间受到毛泽东的接见。当他们启程返乡时,毛泽东送给他们每人半条“大前门”牌香烟、一口箱子、一根手杖、一双皮鞋,勉励他们好好工作,多为群众办事。
Appropriate gifts from friends and comrades are both traditional practices and human feelings. Mao Zedong also often presents or accepts gifts for his official activities and private contacts, but he has strict principles and standards. In June 1954, the first meeting of the first member congress of China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives was held in Beijing. Zou Zupei and other three people who had worked with the peasant movement in Shaoshan together with Mao Zedong were representatives of the conference and were interviewed by Mao Zedong during the meeting. When they departed to return home, Mao Zedong gave each of them half of the “big front door” brand of cigarettes, a box, a walking stick and a pair of leather shoes, encouraging them to work well and to serve the masses.
