胡锦涛同志在十七届中央纪委七次全会上的重要讲话强调:我们党作为马克思主义执政党,只有不断保持纯洁性,才能不断巩固执政基础,才能实现党和国家兴旺发达、长治久安。保持党的纯洁性,需要我们开展切实有效的工作,而认识和运用马克思主义执政党保持纯洁性的规律,是保持党的纯洁性的基本前提和重要保证,是提高党的建设科学化水平的必然要求。认识马克思主义执政党保持纯洁性的规律,就是把马克思主义执政党在执政过程中保持纯洁性的有关要素所具有的客观的、本质的、必然的、稳定的联系揭示出来。
