几年来,我在学生的作业、教师的备课笔记以及一些报刊杂志中,发现“哪”和“那”误用的现象。为什么会产生这种现象呢?我认为有三方面的原因:其一,读音相近。“哪”和“那”同属一个音节(na),只是在声调上略有不同。作代词、连词时,“哪”是上声,(nǎ),而“那”则为去声(nà)。如果发音不够准确,再加上方言的影响,就容易把它们读成同音;其二,形体相似。在外形上,“哪”比“那”多一个“口”旁,二者形体较为相似,于是,有人把它们当成一对孪生姐妹。其三,词义模糊。
In recent years, I have found out the misuse of “which” and “that” in my homework assignments, teacher preparation notes, and in some newspapers and magazines. Why does this happen? I think there are three reasons: First, the pronunciation is similar. “Which” and “That” belong to the same syllable (na), but slightly different in tone. As pronouns, conjunctions, “which” is on the sound (nǎ), and “that” is off (nà). If the pronunciation is not accurate enough, coupled with the dialect, it is easy to read them as homonyms; second, the body is similar. In appearance, “which” than “that” next to a “mouth”, the two are more similar in form, so, some people think of them as a pair of twin sisters. Third, the word meaningless.
