路肩是路基标准横断面的一个重要组成部分,路肩的传统功能随着公路等级的提高、交通设施的完善而出现了变化。在山岭区,由于地形限制、公路建设投资大的特点,路肩宽度的取值对公路建设投资有较大的影响,较宽的路肩取值,造成浪费;减少路肩宽度,以致部分公路又存在路肩宽度不足的现象。基于此,本文作者通过对云南省不同等级公路的路肩宽度、功能、交通特性进行调查、分析,得出山岭区公路路肩的宽度及其功能的关系,为公路路肩宽度的取值提供了依据。
