《战争与和平》是十九世纪俄国伟大的思想家、作家列夫·托尔斯泰(LeoTolstoy 1828—1910)于1863—1869年创作完成的长篇巨著,被认为是世界文学史上的经典名著。小说以拿破仑时期的俄法战争为背景,描绘了俄国上流社会中三个贵族家庭的生活变迁。托尔斯泰创作这部小说时并没有刻意构思故事情节,也没有刻意塑造具有突出性格特征的典型人物,而是借助人物与历史事件向读者展现了一幅宽阔的俄罗斯历史生活的画卷。历史在前进,生活在交迁,随着人的年龄变化,每个人物都不可避免地对历史产生影响,也相互影响。历史正是这种人物与事件互相关联的记录。贯穿小说的两个主题,一是人物的生理变迁,由青年走向老年,一是社会事态的变迁,从战争走向和平。1905年俄法战争迫在眉睫,但俄国的上流社会依旧是歌厅舞场、谈情说爱,似乎没有任何重大的事情发生。娜塔莎一家住在莫斯科。哥哥尼古拉要参军,被全家推崇为忠于沙皇的偶像。而娜塔沙家的朋友皮埃尔从巴黎留学归来,无所事事,成天在赌桌旁消磨时光。看来他被埃伦的父亲看中,迫于无奈,皮埃尔娶了漂亮而放荡的埃伦为妻。安德瑞是皮埃尔的密友,因瞧不上自己的妻子,不愿受家庭生活的束缚,入伍上前线打仗去了。他的妻子生下儿子后病逝。后来安德瑞从前线回来,与娜塔莎一见钟情,但他们的婚事却遭到安德瑞父亲的阻挠。他坚持一年后才能办婚事。这期间娜塔莎结识了埃伦的弟弟,品行不端的安纳托尔。在安纳托尔的诱骗之下,单纯的姆塔莎不能自已,决定与安私奔,并写信给安德瑞是求中止他们之间的婚邪气。娜塔莎的母亲发现了她的打算,制止了她。但安德瑞因此而遭受了感情上的重大打击。法军占领莫斯科时度埃尔被捕,成了战俘。人生旅途的变迁给予他极大的教育。拿破仑的军队在严寒与俄军的袭击之下败退,皮埃尔重新获得自由。此时他的妻子埃伦已在彼得堡病故。他的好友安德瑞在前线负重伤,送回后方医治。娜塔莎无微不至地照料他。但是,他伤势过重,不幸去世。皮埃尔回到莫斯科,回到了朋友之中。他和娜塔莎结为终身伴侣,开始了新的生活。
“War and Peace” was a long masterpiece written by the great Russian thinker and writer Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910) in 1863-1869 in the 19th century and was considered a classic in the history of world literature. Based on the Russo-French War in the Napoleonic period, the novel depicts the changes in life of three aristocratic families in the upper class in Russia. Tolstoy did not deliberately conceptualize the story when he created the novel. Instead of deliberately shaping typical characters with prominent personality traits, Tolstoy used the figures and historical events to present readers with a broad picture of Russian historical life. As history advances and life changes, as people age, each person inevitably has an impact on history and influences each other. History is the record of the interrelatedness of such characters and events. Throughout the two themes of the novel, one is the physical change of characters, from youth to old age. The first is the change of social events, from the war to peace. The war between Russia and France was imminent in 1905, but the high society in Russia was still a karaoke dance hall. It did not seem like any major event happened. The Natasha family lives in Moscow. Nicolaus brother to join the army, respected by the whole family as loyal to the Tsar’s idol. The Natasha family friend Pierre returned from studying in Paris, doing nothing, spending time at the gambling tables all day long. It seems he was Elin’s father fancy, forced, Pierre married a beautiful and debauched Elon wife. Andre was a close friend of Pierre, because he did not look after his wife and did not want to be bound by family life. His wife passed away after giving birth to his son. Andriy came back from the front and fell in love with Natasha at first sight, but their marriage was obstructed by André’s father. He insisted that a year later to do marriage. During this time Natasha met Ellen’s brother, misconduct Anatolian. Under the wrath of Anatolian, purely, Thatsatha could not help himself and decided to run amunic rically and wrote to Andre that he would stop the marriage between them. Natasha’s mother found her intention to stop her. However, Andre suffered a major emotional impact. When French troops occupied Moscow, El was arrested and became a prisoner of war. The change of life journey gives him great education. Napoleon’s army retreated under cold and Russian attacks, and Pierre regained his freedom. His wife Ellen was now dead in Petersburg. Andre, his friend, was seriously wounded in the front and was sent back to heal. Natasha takes good care of him. However, he was overly injured and unfortunately passed away. Pierre returned to Moscow and returned to his friend. He and Natasha became lifelong companions and started a new life.
