Little is known about the underlying mechanisms of prostate cancer bone metastases. Studies have shown that highly metastatic prostate cancer cell line (PC-3) inhibits the growth of bone marrow endothelial cells (HBME-1) in collagen gels and induces their differentiation, similar to the in vivo angiogenesis. The use of cDNA microarray analysis identified PC-3 cells affecting HBME-1-related cytokines; studies with cytokines and their neutralizing antibodies and identified specific angiogenesis
