为评价家蚕茧壳药食开发利用的安全性,以小鼠为实验动物进行急性毒性和致突变试验。将家蚕茧壳粉碎成细粉掺入饲料后,以12.0 g/(kg·d)的家蚕茧壳干粉添食剂量连续2周饲喂小鼠,观察测定家蚕茧壳干粉对雌、雄小鼠的LD50均>12.0 g/kg,属实际无毒级物质。致突变试验分别以12.0、3.0、1.5 g/(kg·d)3组家蚕茧壳干粉添食剂量连续4 d(小鼠骨髓细胞染色体畸变试验)或5 d(小鼠精子畸变试验)给小鼠喂食,调查检测3个剂量组小鼠骨髓细胞染色体的突变率,雌性均为0.17%,雄性均为0,与阴性对照组相比均不存在显著性差异(P>0.05),检验结果为阴性;小鼠精子突变率与阴性对照组之间也不存在显著性差异(P>0.05)。试验结果表明,家蚕茧壳干粉属于实际无毒级物质,可作为口服用品的原料开发利用。
