The application of “Process Industry Energy System Optimization in Petroleum and Petrochemical Industry” undertaken by School of Chemical Engineering of South China University of Technology was appraised by scientific and technological achievements organized by Guangdong Science and Technology Department and Guangdong Provincial Department of Education in September 2002. The expert group composed of more than 10 well-known experts such as academician Chen Junwu and academician Xu Cheng’en of the Academy of Engineering believes that this achievement puts forward the energy flow knot of the system of independent innovation
