2016年12月底,我跟两个女儿去徒步旅行。说徒步,我指的是在哥斯达黎加一片茂密、潮湿的山地丛林连走带爬带滚五个小时,目的地是据说可能看到的一个壮丽瀑布。我们仿佛要么爬上90度的垂直山坡,否则就会在红黏土的泥浆里失控地滑落,掉进箭毒蛙和小而凶恶的咬人蚁出没的幽深峡谷。换句话说,那种情形跟2016年特朗普当选及其他糟事发生后人们的感受没什么两样。
At the end of December 2016, I went hiking with two daughters. Speaking on foot, I am referring to a magnificent waterfall in Costa Rica where a lush, humid mountain jungle runs for 5 hours with a crawl and a destination that is supposedly seen. We seem to either climb the vertical slopes of 90 degrees or we’ll slide out of control in the mud of the red clay and fall into the deep valleys where poisonous poison frogs and small, vicious bites infiltrate. In other words, that kind of situation is no different from what people feel after Trump was elected in 2016 and other bad things happened.
