One of the most economically and respectably respected people, briefly serving as a parliamentarian at the beginning of the 20th century, was Hilaire Belloc. It is said that many years later, when he was over 80 years old, a young politician visited him at the Reform Club. The young man may be slightly arrogant: “I just came over from the House.” “Oh my god!” Bellock replied, “Is that fucking bullshit hall still working?” Maybe today Westminster is a group of insane madmen who are excited to nonsense. Perhaps the constitution has died.
