Korla Economic and Technological Development Zone was approved by the People’s Government of Autonomous Region in July 2000 with a planned area of 18.37 square kilometers. It is the only provincial-level development zone integrating economic and technological development and high-tech industrial park in southern Xinjiang. The development strategy of “North Wunankou” in Xinjiang and the macroeconomic pattern of “Eight Counties, One City and One District” of Bazhou and the basic status of Development Zone in the development strategy of “Strong Industry in Bazhou” in Bazhou rely on abundant oil resources in Bazhou, Natural gas, cotton, pear, red deer, potash, andalusite, asbestos, vermiculite and other resource advantages and the Korla city north and south, “bridgehead” geographical advantages, so that the development zone gradually
