美国科学家曾做过一个这样的实验,找一些人观看2500张图片,在一个星期后让这些人重新观看,虽然已经过去了一个星期,但是还能认出这些图片的占其中的90%。这个实验运用的方法是辨认,而不是让人们主动回忆。这个实验充分证明了运用图像记忆法的高效性。一张图片可以搭载很多文字所要表达的意思,对于人们来说,记忆一张图片要比记忆一段文字容易得多,如果把这种图像记忆法运用到教学中将会产生事半功倍的效果,而地理这门学科就很好地利用了图像记忆的方法。地理教材中富含各种各样的地图、示意图、景观图、统计图,这些都是图像教学的重要组成部分,也是学好地理的工具和途径。
