临朐县位于泰沂山区北边缘,潍坊市西南部,总面积1833平方公里,辖16个建制镇、6个乡,972个行政村,总人口86.1万。1998年全县实现国民生产总值51亿元,一、二、三产业增加值分别达到13.7亿元、22.2亿元和15.1亿元;实现财政总收入28亿元,其中地方财政收入1.7亿元;农民人均纯收入达到2631元。近几年来,县委、县政府始终把村镇建设作为启动全县经济活力,带动二、三产业发展,实现农村劳动力向城镇转移,加快农村城市化建设和实现农村奔小康的重要内容来抓,促进了村镇建设“十百千”活动的深入开展,加快了村镇建设进程,取得了比较明显的成效。
