本刊讯(记者魏玉栋)最近,记者从农业部遥感应用中心获悉,通过3年来的努力,我国目前已初步形成了农业遥感监测的技术方法和技术体系,进行了农作物遥感估产运行系统的试运行。2001年11月,我国遥感科学界权威专家对此运行系统进行了评审。专家组认为,利用遥感技术、地理信息系统和全球定位系统等现代空间信息技术,结合地面调查方法,建立一个适合中国国情的、满足决策部门需求的、可长期业务化运行的全国主要农作物遥感估产和农情监测系统,对于及时准确地掌握农业生产情况、科学指导我国农业生产、合理应对加入 WTO 后的农业结构战略性调整、优化农业种植结构以及粮食安全预警等均有着十分重要的意义。国外的遥感估产运行系统从20世纪80年代开始陆续投入运行,如美国农业部的全球农业遥感估产运行系统、欧盟农业局的农作物遥感监测运行系统、澳大利亚
