The paper analyses the presentation stage in a language classroom mainly from two perspectives.The first aspect is consciousness raising.Raising learners’ consciousness about the nature of target language rules can help to internalize them and master the target language better.The second aspect is comprehensible input.Target language data which were slightly more advanced than the second language learner’ s current level of comfortable understanding can promote learning.Therefore, the two aspects in the presentation stage are valuable to learners in a language classroom.
