Governing equations in symmetric form for hydroelastic vibrations are derived. By means or Guyan’sreduction snd modal synthesis technique, the size of matrix equations is minimized. Both single compatibletechnique and double compatible technique are applied to extract the coupling vibration modes ofliquid containers. Excellent agreement with test results indicates that the present methiod is effective.
