布什政府任内,美国官方一直否认气候变化会为人类安全带来威胁,而奥巴马上台后从根本上改变了这一态度。这一转变颇像2004年上映的由好莱坞著名灾难片导演艾默里奇执导的影片《后天》中的情节:美国副总统在自己国家经历了灾难之后坦承在气候变化问题上的政策失误。在现实中,美国等西方国家虽没有遭受像电影中那样的气候灾难,但对灾难的预期正变得愈发现实。而在一些保守派人士眼中,气候变化是一个带有火药味的名字——“气候战争”正变成他们口中的流行语。
During the Bush administration, U.S. officials have always denied that climate change will threaten human security. This has been fundamentally changed by Obama since taking office. The shift is much like the plot in the movie “Acquit”, released in 2004 under the title directed by Emily Richter, a famous Hollywood disaster director: the U.S. vice president conceded policy mistakes on climate change after his country had suffered a catastrophe. In reality, although the United States and other western countries have not suffered the climate catastrophe like the movie, their expectations of the disaster are becoming more and more realistic. In the eyes of some conservatives, climate change is the name of a gunpowder - “climate war” is becoming a buzzword in their mouth.
