春天的辽东山区是一望无际的翠绿。在蔚蓝的天空和绿色相接的大山深处——宽甸满族自治县步达远乡新兴村,我们找到了党的十五大代表、刊授党校学员曲秀云的家。步达远乡曾是闻名全省的贫困乡,曲秀云所在的新兴村又是这个乡的贫困之最。80年代初期,辽宁省农科院的科研人员选定新兴村作为推广栽桑养蚕试点,在人们还犹豫仿徨的时候,曲秀云却撂下手里的农活,第一个到培训班报了名。当她学会了实生桑嫁接大叶桑技术的时候,就急火火地行动起来。她和丈夫经过一个冬春的苦干,将房后坑坑洼洼、石头满地的大壕沟修整成了梯田,种下了2500株大叶桑,建成了自家的桑园。养蚕是门技术活儿,着实让曲秀云吃了不少苦头,好在她有股不服输的劲儿,一切从头学起。温度、湿度、消毒是养蚕的关键,她冲破冬雪春寒,穿过夏雾秋雨,一年四季日夜奔波,秋冬拜师学艺,春夏蹲进蚕房昼夜观察摸索,终于掌握了这门技术。同时,对桑蚕常见的脓病、僵蚕病、软化病,不但能及早发现诊治,还学会了早期预防的专业本领。
