Professor Deng has always been a liberal scholar before entering the system and becoming a teacher. One of the reasons he entered the system is to cultivate academic echelon and further promote Chinese social science. In an open discussion with students, he was surprised to find that our students are still in a narrow PhD degree and have a poor academic accumulation even at the doctoral level, and even more so that students do not discuss the issue in an academic way
