Effect of Orthodontic Treatment and Aesthetic Change in the Treatment of Class Ⅱ Malocclusion in Adolescents

Abstract： Objective To investigate the clinical effect and aesthetic changes of adolescents with Class Ⅱ malocclusion after orthodontic treatment. Methods Total of 106 patients with Class Ⅱ malocclusion deformity in adolescents admitted to our department of stomatology from October 2016 to October 2018 were selected. Orthodontic treatment was performed on patients with Class Ⅱ malocclusion deformity by straight wire bow appliance. The duration of orthodontic treatment was 12～18 months. The degree of tooth deformity， soft tissue changes and aesthetics of patients with Class Ⅱ malocclusion deformity in adolescents before and after orthodontic treatment were compared. Results After treatment， the anterior teeth overlay， anterior teeth coverage， molar occlusal relationship， and midline relationship scores were lower than before treatment， and the differences were all statistically significant （P
