全省第5次高校党建工作会议于10月26日至27日在兰州召开。这次会议的主要任务是:传达贯彻全国高校党建工作会议精神,总结交流工作经验,表彰高校党建工作先进单位和个人,重点研究加强我省高校领导班子建设的问题。会议主要精神综述如下:一、加强高校领导班子建设的重大意义加强高校领导班子建设,是贯彻落实党的十四届四中全会决定的一个重要方面,是建设好新的伟大工程的重要组成部分。我们正处在世纪之交,世界上以科技和经济为基础的综合国力的竞争日趋激烈,这种竞争说到底是人才的竞争和较量,是领导者素质、能力的竞争和较量。要适应这种新形势,一方面,取决于我们能不能培养和造就一批坚持走有中国特色社会主义道路、能够跨世纪担当历史重任的优秀领导人才;另一方面,取决于我们能不能加快实施“科教兴国”战略,尽快把经济搞上去,推进社会的全面进步。完成这两方面的任务,高校担负着特殊的重要任务。高等院校的根本任务是培养社会主义事业的建设者和接班人。高校所处的这种战略地位,对高校领导班子建设提出了很高的要求。高校领导班
