中国共产党三代领导核心都大力倡导发扬延安精神。1949年建国伊始,毛泽东同志就号召全党要保持延安时期艰苦奋斗作风。邓小平同志多次要求全党宣传恢复和发扬延安精神,指出延安精神是中华人民共和国的精神文明的主要支柱。江泽民同志任总书记月余即去延安考察,1990年4月又亲笔题词;“延安精神永放光芒”。党的十五大刚刚结束,江泽民同志又为北京育才学校60周年校庆题词:“发扬延安精神,培育跨世纪优秀人才。”由此可见,保持和发扬延安精神,是一项强国富民的战略措施,是社会主义精神文明建设的重要内容,是培养造就跨世纪优秀人才的必要途径。延安精神要能盛传不衰。关键在于要对我们的青少年认真进行启蒙、熏陶、传授、锤炼等方式多样的教育引导工作,让延安精神从小就沁入他们的心田,成为他们茁壮成长的一种潜能。教育我们的孩子,学校教师尤其是班主任,是可以大有作为的。为此,我们刊发了两篇作品:一篇是《别让孩子在蜜水里溺死》,一篇是《稚嫩的脊背深沉的爱》,期望引起广大教育工作者的关注,并欢迎在这方面作过成功尝试的教师们踊跃赐稿。
