内皮素是近年发现的最强的内源性缩血管多肽，并有较长的半衰期。它有３种异构体，其中内皮素－１作用最强。内皮素主要通过与靶细胞膜上的内皮素受体结合后引起其生物学效应。越来越多的资料显示内皮素在缺血性脑血管病的发生中起着重要的作用。
Endothelin is the strongest endogenous vasoconstrictor polypeptide found in recent years and has a longer half-life. It has three isomers, of which endothelin-1 strongest. Endothelin mainly causes its biological effect by binding to the endothelin receptor on the target cell membrane. More and more data show that endothelin plays an important role in the occurrence of ischemic cerebrovascular disease.
