孙雯(女)中国女子足球队队长,六七月间在美国举行的第三届世界杯女足赛上荣膺最佳球员和最佳射手,入选全明星队,为中国队获得亚军立下头功。9月当选第十届“中国十大杰出青年”。谢军(女)在7月至8月举行的国际象棋女子世界冠军赛中,以8.5分比6.5分战胜俄罗斯棋手加里亚莫娃,第三次夺得国际象棋女子世界冠军称号。刘国梁(男)8月在荷兰举行的第四十五届世界乒乓球锦标赛上夺得男单冠军,并与孔令辉合作获男双冠军。刘宏宇(女)8月在第七届世界田径锦标赛女子20公里竞走比赛中获得金牌。王楠(女)在第四十五届世界乒乓球锦标赛上获女单冠军,与李菊合作夺得女双冠军,目前列国际乒联世界女子排名第一位。
Sun Wen (female) captain of the Chinese women’s football team won the best player and best shooter in the third World Cup women’s football tournament held in the United States in June-July. She was selected as the All-Star Team and won the runner-up for the Chinese team. September was elected the Tenth “China Top Ten Outstanding Youth ”. Xie Jun (female) won the Chess World Championship for the third time in 8.5 at the Chess Women’s World Championship in July-August, defeating the Russian player Garyamova at 6.5 points. Liu Guoliang (male) won the Men’s Singles Championship at the 45th World Table Tennis Championships in Holland in August and won the men’s doubles championship with Kong Linghui. Liu Hongyu (female) won a gold medal in the women’s 20k race at the Seventh World Athletics Championships in August. Wang Nan (female) won the women’s singles championship at the 45th World Table Tennis Championships, won the women’s dazzling champion in cooperation with Li Ju, and currently ranked No. 1 in the ITTF World Women list.
