戴维营是美国总统的别墅。它距华盛顿一百余公里,座落在马里兰州卡托克廷山脉国立公园的海拔四百余米的一座山上。戴维营建于一九三九年,原名“卡托克廷山庄”。罗斯福首次使用它,井把它改为“香格里拉”,意即“世外桃源”。二次世界大战期间,罗斯福与丘吉尔曾在这里商定盟军开辟欧洲第二战场的日期。艾森豪威尔任总统后,于一九五三年以其长孙载维之名,将它易名为“戴维营”。美国历届总统都喜欢到那里度假,有时在这里招待国宾或举行会谈。现任总统卡特曾在这里
Camp David is the president of the United States. It is a hundred kilometers from Washington, and is located on a hill 400 meters above sea level in the Cattolitan Mountains National Park, Maryland. David built in 1939, formerly known as “Cato-Ting Villa.” Roosevelt first used it and changed it to “Shangri-La,” meaning “paradise.” During World War II, Roosevelt and Churchill once agreed here on the date when Allied forces opened Europe’s second battlefield. After Eisenhower became president, Eisenhower renamed it “Camp David” in 1953 in the name of his entourage. All American presidents love to spend their holidays there, sometimes hosting state guests or holding talks here. The current President Carter was here
