Total announced in November 2013 that it has completed two lube blending plants in Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast and northern part of China. These two new plants will enable Total to meet the strong growth in demand for automotive and industrial lubricants, which is expected to grow by 20% by 2022. Total said it sold 1.9 million tonnes of motor vehicles and industrial lubricants in 150 countries in 2012, ranking the sixth in the industry. Total’s goal is to increase its presence in the automotive and industrial lubricants sectors, increasing its share of the global market from 4% at the end of 2012 to at least 5% by 2022.
