After reading the article entitled “Ideological Work in the United States” (by Li Zurong), I was greatly inspired. The section of “Religious Maintenance” in this article specifically describes the status of religion as dominant in the spiritual life of the American people. Many Americans use God’s deterrent power to restrain their behavior and regulate their own moral sentiments. The most important things in their life-birth, adulthood, marriage, and death-are provided by religion with customs and etiquette, reflecting the role of religion in the individual throughout its life. In the United States, only about 3% claim that they do not believe in religion, and most people believe in religion. In addition to the United States, many people in Western countries believe in all religions.
