谷子锈病是谷子的主要病害之一。去年8月中旬谷子锈病刚发生时,北票市植保站与南八家乡农业干部一起指导本乡20户农民,用25％粉锈宁防治谷子锈病60亩,取得较好防效,防治田每亩地可增产谷子75—100公斤,谷草200公斤,价值45—50元,每亩地用药成本0.73元,其经济效益比为1:61—69。具体做法是,在8月中旬,谷子扬花或灌浆期,当叶片零星发生锈病时,进行施药防治。每亩地用25％粉锈宁15克,加水15公斤,用小孔径喷头片对谷子全株进行喷雾。
