(I) RootsrnSome roots are long and thin. Other roots are short and thick. Even though they look different, all roots help plants live in their envi?ronment. Some plants that live in dry places have very long roots. They grow down to find water deep underground. Some plants that live in wet places grow roots above the ground. This way the plant does not get too much water.rn
