a fish story在He told me a fish stroy中有两层意思:1.吹牛(an unbelievable story),2.关于鱼的故事(a story of/aboutfish)。
English ambiguity refers to the ambiguity of the meaning of a word, phrase or sentence, with two or more interpretations. Ambiguity disturbs the reader (or listener) and does not know what the author (or speaker) refers to. For example, the following three cases. His writing is clear, understood as “handwriting, legible,” and as “style, logical.” A fish story has two meanings in He told me a fish stroy: 1. an unbelievable story, 2. a story of aboutfish. They miss her also have two meanings: First, “They miss her.” Second, “They did not see her.”
