In recent years, acute and sub-acute Keshan disease is rare in our province. About 40 million people in the province have an incidence of about 100 in each of the past two years and the mortality rate has also dropped significantly. In the past, the highest incidence in Bei’an County (1953) was 993.00 per 100 000. Now, in the province, the incidence of acute and subacute type has dropped to 0.8 / 10,000 (same as in 1981). Acute, subacute Keshan disease on people’s harm has been significantly reduced, but the chronic Keshan disease is still ongoing
