The leap forward in the past year has made great achievements in the scientific front. One of the greatest features is that young scientists have grown up in large numbers. Compared with 1958, the research results of 1959 are not only more in quantity, but also greatly improved in level. What is more important is that most of these achievements have been made by young people. This is a very gratifying phenomenon. We wish and are convinced that young and middle-aged scientists in 1960 will have to achieve even greater and greater achievements. Heroes out of juveniles, which in the history of science has almost become a law, many major inventions and innovations are made by young people. Newton at the age of twenty invented micro
