Intel’s Celeron strategy initially seemed puzzling. Proposed a new name, Intel sacrificed Pentium and Pentium Ⅱ brought the effect. The earliest Celeron products, with no L2 cache, did not fully exploit the performance potential of their P6 processor chips. And typical business PC applications run poorly on it compared to their competitors. Why Intel invests to create a new brand whose products are so unimpressive? To understand this strategy better, we must take a serious look at Intel’s product roadmap. In 1997, although reluctantly, Intel still realized that low-cost, low-end PC will bring
