粤东揭阳、五华、紫金、河源、惠阳等地,广泛分布着一套中基性一酸性火山岩系。1962年,张有正、倪岳英在海丰汤湖火山岩系中的沉积夹层内,发现鱼类、双壳类、叶肢介、昆虫、植物等化石。依据植物化石定其时代为中、晚侏罗世,分别以揭阳高基坪和河源吉岭湾为标准地点,建立了上侏罗统高基坪群和中侏罗统吉岭湾群。近年来,笔者对上述植物化石进行重新研究,发现高基坪群有早白垩世威尔登期或更高层位的标准分子Frenelopsis等,因此,高基坪群的时代,有属于早白垩世的可能。1975年,笔者参加了鄂东南灵乡群的研究,依据其中所含的植物化石,可与高基坪群对比。
Guangdong Jieyang, Wuhua, Zijin, Heyuan, Huiyang and other places, widely distributed in a set of basic-acidic volcanic rocks. In 1962, Zhang Youzheng and Ni Yueying discovered fossils such as fish, bivalves, leaves, insects and plants in the sedimentary interlayer of Haifeng-Tanghu volcanic rock series. Based on the phyto-fossils dating to the middle and late Jurassic, the Upper Jurassic Gaoji Pill group and Middle Jurassic Ji-ling Bay group were established with Jieji Gaji Ping and Heyuan Ji-ling Bay as the standard sites respectively. In recent years, the author re-studied the above plant fossils and found that GaojiPing group has the Freelopsis et al. Standard in the Early Cretaceous Willden or higher stage. Therefore, in the age of Gaoji Pingshu, may. In 1975, the author participated in the study of Lingxiang Group in southeastern Hubei Province. Based on the plant fossils contained therein, it can be compared with that of Gaojiping Group.
