For decades, scientific research in the field of oral rejuvenation has been greatly developed in the United States. In the early 1950s, the articles published in the journal JProsthet Dent accounted for only 13.4% of the total articles, but by the mid-1980s, the proportion of scientific articles had reached 72.6%. Most research projects are conducted in stomatological colleges because of the highly trained staff, good facilities and more sources of funding. After investigating the scientific research of 53 stomatological colleges and universities, Harrington said that the quantity of published papers can be used to evaluate the scientific level of a school. The level depends on the following factors: (1) The Instiute of Dental Besearch NIDR); ② proportion of students / faculty; ③ library books; ④ good basic science training. In his opinion, the ideal conditions are: NIDR provides annual funding of more than $ 420,000; the ratio of students / faculty members does not exceed 4.75; the number of library stomatology books is not less than 10,000; and basic science courses are taught in medical schools.
