The eighth “Chinese Theater” plum prize selection results have been announced, a star of drama from young and middle-aged actors in the rising team, illuminated the stage of socialist drama. From the winter of 1989, the plum primrose, ushered in the 1990 drama full garden spring, the situation is excellent. However, how is the good situation of theater achieved? It is worth considering and summarizing. We think two of these can not be ignored. Facts have proved that the Party’s literary and art policy of “grasping one hand and building prosperity with one hand” is entirely correct. Reorganization and prosperity are the unity of dialectical complementarity, not unrelated or even contradictory. The rectification is for prosperity, while new problems will emerge in the prosperity and development that need further consolidation. Imagine if, after the “June 4” peaceful storms in Beijing, there is no ideological or organizational rectification in the literary and art circles and the theater industry, the momentum of winter drama that year will not be able to come soon. In the past, it was very difficult for the grassroots troupes from other places to perform in Beijing. That is, they would not be able to pay much attention to the performances of the public at that time. Only after such rectification is completed can some foreign grassroots troupes be able to enter Beijing in such a large amount that they have created the “winter’s spring in the capital” stage. Therefore, there are two different kinds of prosperity. One is the “sensation effect” that appears in the salon among the few minorities that touted each other. The other is that some of the plays popular for the masses have not failed, Greatly inspired people’s revolutionary enthusiasm. What we need is the latter. This is the real prosperity of socialist drama.
