自数字技术应用进入人们的生活以来,各种形态的新媒体——网络、手机短信、移动电视、网络电视(IPTV)等——穿越书本、报纸、电视、广播等传统媒体覆盖的缝隙,渗透到我们生活的方方面面。2004年6月,盛大网络与英特尔宣布合作进行数字家庭互动娱乐解决方案的开发工作,未来将通过其提供游戏、音乐、电视、电影等内容。2005年1月,中国联通宣布以现有的CDMA手机平台为基础,为CDMA用户提供数字视频新媒体服务,并对3G时代的新媒体进行预演。新媒体时代初现端倪,即引来无数业内竞争者趋之若鹜。
